| Hi! I'm a longtime fan who was lucky enough to meet you (Peter) and the Little River Band in Schaumburg, Il at Septemberfest in, I think it was 1995; and again in 1996, in Schaumburg. At that time, you signed every CD/single recording that I had of yours and from Player and the Little River Band...(and there were quite a few of them). That's when things got a little crazy... I went to a booking that LRB had in Moline, Il. and then "followed" the band to a date in St. Paul/Minn; while I was on vacation and didn't have any other plans. You told me that I was nuts while we were still in Moline and once we were in MN, I told you that you were right. The last time that I saw you was at the July 4 celebration in Arlington Heights, Il-I think it was 1997 or maybe 1998... Anyway, you told me to write to you at your lawyer's office-I never did- but then I found this site and decided that I wanted to send a note and say "Hi!"...OK this is a lot more than "Hi'-but it's been close to 10 years. | Dear Peter, I have been a fan since the first Player album hit the airwaves. I still have the first two albums which is amazing since my ex-wife kept a LOT of my stuff when we split. But some things are more important than others! I started a guitar pick collection as of January '06 and I tried to find you online, but couldn't until tonight. I wanted so bad to try getting a pick from you since it's a collection of picks of my favorites, but I'm just glad that I was finally able to find you! Also, I want to say thanks for something you kinda helped with. When the first Player album came out, my older brother wanted mine. So for Christmas he got it, and a rocky relationship between two brothers ended and we've been close ever since thanks to both of us loving your work. He still has his copy also, but it's on 8 track, so he can't play it, but he still treasures it. Glad you didn't drop off the face of the earth, as I feared. I have been a fan of PLAYER since I heard then for the first time in 1978 when i was only 7 years old; it was in a party my brother throw in my house back in Cuba. I left Cuba in 1982 and found my new home in San Juan, PR. And from 1986 I started my music collection, I search everywhere for the PLAYER's albums and 1 by 1 I stard finding them in flea markets and vintage stores, but the only thing i havent found is video footage from the band in the early days; it would be a dream come true if i could find any, maybe peter can help me 8D. He was awesome in the concert they play in San Juan with LRB. I'm also a musician and PLAYER music has been one of my biggest influences. I wish he could come again to San JUan with this time ron moss and other guys from PLAYER. Thank for such beautiful music. | |||

| When I first heard "Baby come back" I was barely a student of 8th grade.This song has been a part of my life ever since.All the albums by Player proves to show how talented Mr Beckett is but it is indeed very disappointing for us fans that he doesnt have too many albums of his own. It is not really understandable why Mr Beckett chose to work with other bands as temporary member after he left Player ,where as he certainly has the quality to lead his own band. My appeal to Mr Beckett,being an extremely talented musician of rare breed it is time for you to give us more music, your own music and leave behind an everlasting legacy, a legacy of a great musician.
